some hauls

last night was early waxing crescent. 15 stacks, wound up with mistletoe and 2 oak logs but no elemental ores to show for it .

tonight, fatigue kicked in after 19 stacks (used a 20th to confirm it). today's haul was 4 gold beastcoins, 4 mythril beastcoins, yellow rock, and 3 coral fungus.

I'm not using a parser right now. Stack counts may be off a little bit.

Digging has been a stress reliever. I'm working 6 days a week this month (only getting Sundays off), and as a result my game time been cut. I been using digging (digging as many stacks as fatigue allows) to try to sneak in revenue (and gardening on my mules) as my farming time has been cut to almost zero.

02 October 2006

seed digging

I spent the last 2 days (jp time) digging in West Ronfaure targeting Vegetable Seeds (must garden Frost Turnips, not paying 100k for a stack at AH and nobody has control of Valdenuia for the second week in a row - which is very unusual for this server). I need turnips to make goblin drinks on the cooking mule.

I'll probably spend every day this week doing 10-13 stacks of greens after I get off from work.

digging time again

another early waxing crescent, another rental chocobo, zero ores dug by the time fatigue set in. the evil empire really nerfed chocobo digging to the point I get zero competition during early waxing crescent (before hand, there was hardcore competition and getting an ore was an accomplishment). On the good side, I did pull up 2 gold beastcoins, so at least I made an profit (also finding a bazaar that had ghysal greens for 40 gil a pop didn't hurt either). SE made digging too restrictive, and they need to loosen up a bit (how about increasing those stacks from 10 to maybe 20-30, because now it will take a year to gain a chocobo digging rank).

I know I should be digging every day but I haven't except for that certain moon phase. I got called back to work and have to report Tuesday. I didn't go meriting this week (opted to farm instead) because my brother just got home from his deployment with the navy. He was gone for 4 months.

I also retired my first chocobo today, but not before I breeded it to couple peeps. I concede the fact it will take couple generations of chocobos before you can really notice a difference. The two major stats you have to focus is endurance and discernment. So when you care, you have to take it on the longest walks that you can and have it either to basic care or listening to music every day for care plans. For feeds, I occasionally give it greens (to get it used to the taste of ghysal greens) and mainly give it carrots or cabbage.

rental birds blow

i hate to admit it, but rental birds were obviously not raised for digging purposes. since that update back in late august, the results with rental chocobos have been as retarded as you can get. my personal chocobo gets better digs and is still Poor on discernment stat. oh course I been raising it for digging purposes, working on discernment and endurance stats as much as I can. The upcoming update will help on that cause.

early waxing crescent finally arrived, but where is that darn weather icon?

Peddlestox has a big grudge against me. third time i traded mermaid parts to him outside kazham, the third time he has screwed me with drops. 2 beastmen seals, fruit seeds, light opal; what the heck? It took me the better part of 2 days to get the items this time around.

I won't be digging the next early waxing crescent. My brother is coming home from his military obligation on Friday just in time for his birthday.

23 September 2006

my bird an adult

my chocobo became an adult

this evening was early waxing crescent so i went out to buburimu and called it when windy weather was present. did not end up with elemental ores by the time fatigue set in, but one of the shall shells turned into a black pearl (now going around 25k a pop) and I pulled up 2 turtle shells, so at least I made a profit.

06 September 2006

today's result

i went digging in the woodlands shortly after JP midnight time. fatigue did not set in until I was on the 10th and final stack of greens (thank god). Got a fairly good haul with a spider web and 2 ebony logs, but no adaman.

finally got in a xp pt on my THF after waiting 30 hours from the last invite and dinged 64 today.

05 September 2006

resumed digging

i resumed digging today after a break

dig 33 items (nothing worth mentioning about) then fatigue set in. this took less than 7 stacks of greens (used a 8th stack to confirm it) for this to happen.

i got 2 mules with wildgrass plants, with pure intentions of cutting costs on some of the feeds. neither mule is ready for harvest yet, as i did the planting on saturday afternoon and moogle has yet to ask for a crystal.

31 August 2006

raising new chocobo chick

last week i been working on raising my new chocobo chick, I named Lady III.

I haven't been doing much digging. The chocobo stables manager keeps being taken prisoner, and the profits in other zones have not been back to normal yet.

08 August 2006

working

good news is that I got ungrounded

bad news is that I'm working 4 nights a week, and only got time to play the game 3 nights.

gotta leave for work in a hour so I need to get going.

01 August 2006

grounded

Having a fight with {Impossible to Gauge} mother is never a good idea.

As a result, I'm grounded from video games until further notice.

28 July 2006

liking the new areas

yesterday, pulled up orc. ore and 2 petrified logs in the thickets, and another adaman in the woodlands. fatigue set in after 10 stacks.

today i used up the 5 stacks I still had in the woodlands and wound up with crap.

26 July 2006

new areas

today digging fatigue set in shortly after i started on the 13th stack of greens. i did use a few stacks of the 2 of the new zones, got an adaman ore and ebony log, but nothing else amazing from that session. i also pulled up black chocobo feathers, dates, pebbles, moko grass, dried majoram, and blue rocks.

25 July 2006

the evil empire strikes

bots lost, but so did us

digging fatigue sets in after 20 stacks of greens?!? WTF?!? 50 stacks would been fair, but 20 stacks was too drastic. Once fatigue sets in, you got to wait til the next JP day before you can dig items again. Lame.

24 July 2006

update is here

after a long 7 hour maintenance, the update is here and i'm back in the game. As soon as I get a few other in-game things done I'll be digging.

21 July 2006

*sigh*

Still on my mini-vacation from digging. I don't think I missed much, the prices are still down. I've been just leveling PLD and trying to level parry skill whenever I can. I'll resume digging after the FFXI update next week.

15 July 2006

damn undercutters

I think I'm going to take couple days off from digging and level up PLD. The person that been buying gold ores/beastcoins from me is out of gil from leveling up goldsmithing, and darksteel ores are at all-time low prices right now.

12 July 2006

finally. . .

just dinged A25 rank. 1180 stacks of greens to get from A30 to A25. Thank god, as the prices of the items I was targeting have dropped during this time, and they dropped when I was out of town. :/

11 July 2006

almost to dinging

i got in another 120 stacks of greens today. I could had pushed it to 150+ stacks if I wanted to, but competition really heated up in the final 20 stacks and I called it a night after that. It also sucks that darksteel ores dipped to 17k a pop when I returned to vacation, but I'm making due. My alchemy mule dinged 74.3 today as well.

10 July 2006

mondays suck

its monday, and back to digging. first 80 stacks digging in gustaberg: 2 darksteel ores. last 20 stacks in same area: 4 darksteel ores and 1 cactus stems. I also pulled up 22 mythril beastcoins and 11 grain seeds in the 100 stacks I did today. I have hit the 1000 stack mark of the craftsman rank, I should be dinging within 500-800 stacks.

09 July 2006

got home today

I got home around 5pm today and been doing unpacking/grocery shopping/etc. I'll resume digging either Monday or Tuesday. I'm tired right now.
