early waxing crescent came right before JP midnight time, which gave me 200 items instead of the usual 100 items. As a result, competition was expected to be high and I found at least 2 other A10 JP diggers out and about. Thunder elemental season was starting to get going again in Jugner, and at 10%, I made a trip into that zone. One of the competitors manages to dig it out on me, but not before I did the damage: I pulled up Fire Ore at 10%.
My fatigue hits soon after that, so I had to wait for 14%, as JP midnight will pass. Another competitor was already in Jugner/Carpenters, so I decided to check Pashhow after another competitor decided to leave that zone. About 25 digs later, I got an Water Ore.

I stumbled across your guide on the Allakazham forums (which was linked on the FFXI Wiki site) and just wanted to say that even though that post is over a year old, it helped me a ton!
I just ranked up to Initiate today, so I may start to target some more profitable zones. I hopefully you don't mind if I bounce some ideas off of you every once in a while ^^
